Congratulations President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris! Most of the nation, including Mark is jubilant and feeling ecstatic with the prospect of great change with COVID being the most paramount issue the new administartion is tackling head on.  Mark talks about the monumental inaugaration events, Biden’s riveting address, music performances and the astonishing Poet Laurette, Amanda Gorman and how she epitomizes the sea of change.

Amy Friedman, author, writing teacher and prison rights activist joins Mark to discuss her paramount role as Co-founder and Executive Director of POPS (Pain of the Prison System), a school based program that originated in Venice California that provides a safe and supportive space for students with an imprisoned sibling or parent.  Students are encouraged to share feelings and to support each other in recognizing their strength and resilience.  Astoundingly, nearly 3 million children in the U.S. have at least one parent in prison and which underscores the need of POPS and the program’s success is demonstrated by the 17 clubs in 5 states that host this unique and impressive program.

POPS also proudly produces “Dream Catchers”, an inspiring and enlightening annual anthology of art, prose, and poetry created by the programs youth and alumni impacted by mass incarceration.  Mark urges you to visit the POPS site to learn more as well as help the program thrive but ordering your copy of “Dream Catchers”

“Mark’s willingness to use his disability to uplift others is both generous and remarkable.  His message resonates with all of us who have worked hard to overcome life’s adversities.  If you’re looking for a podium speaker, look elsewhere.  Mark stays on the move and keeps the audience engaged.  Thank you, Mark”

Johnny Callebs KAPP Executive Director

“Mark Farrell is a dynamic speaker who will captivate the audience by sharing his personal story of how he was able to overcome challenges in life and worked his way to success.  We scheduled Mark for 45 minutes, but our students were so engaged in his story that Mark spoke for over 1 hour.  I still have students approach me and discuss Mark's message and say, "if he could do it, so can I”

 Christine Crielly School Counselor

“Mark invigorated our conference! His genuine enthusiasm and professionalism, combined with an amazing topic, made for a marvelous presentation”
