Gong Show creator, songwriter and novelist – Chuck Barris gave the nation unique shows that forever changed the landscape of television. Mark recalls a hilarious episode of Barris’s The Newlywed Game where a most embarrassing revelation occurred for a couple. Shannon Ryan will undoubtedly write and direct highly informative and entertaining films in the future though now as a shinning graduate student at Brooklyn College’s Barry R. Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema and recipient of Woman of Her Word Disabilities scholarship (awarded by Michele Spitz), Shannon explains how she is furthering her vast skill set that includes incorporating her keen perspective and resiliency as an indomitable woman with multiple disabilities including hearing and visual impairments. Plus, why it’s healthy to step out of ones comfort zone even if it risks embarrassment – or in Mark’s case, the inability to see bowling pins for the sake of a good time. And meet Julia – Sesame Street’s new muppet who is on the Autism spectrum.

Kyle Mendelson is taking the temperature of our nation by traveling to over a dozen US cities to meet with politicians, educators and more in an effort to better understand perspectives and motives in regions that voted number forty-five. From the cockpit to ticket handlers and everyone between – the significance of the women of Air India who circumnavigated the world.
Why do so many parents foot the bill so their college kid can fly off to warmer climates along with other spring breakers for a week of debauchery? And how the oh so modern Catholic church amended lent guidelines permitting corned beef consumption on St. Patrick’s “Friday”.

“Mark Farrell presented at our school during The Week of Respect. The students were captivated by his motivating message on perseverance, diversity, and anti-bullying. Our students remained engaged throughout his presentation as he has perfected speaking to students at their developmental level. Mark was flexible to work with and was able to engage with students on a large array of topics. My students greatly benefited from hearing the message that with hard work, diligence, and never giving up on yourself, your dreams can become your reality. I would highly recommend Mark Farrell to any school looking for a highly motivating speaker”

What helps you get over someone…endless Ben & Jerry’s, wine, yoga, wine, frolicking with puppies??? Renew, an upstate N.Y. retreat for those in need of an escape and help mending their shattered heart can help. Plus, there’s nothing like getting over someone with another someone! When I gave a talk on mental illness to N.J. State health professionals recently, I was approached by a man who was captivated by my candid experience and now is organizing a support group for men since he had wished one existed when he was experiencing depression. Dancin weekdays are here…Daybreaker’s (www.daybreaker.com) “beatz up” mornings with pre-work yoga and wildly fun dance parties (minus the booze) in coveted venues in U.S. cities and around the world. No need for pumps or the gym – dance, sweat, apply deodorant liberally and off to work you go with a smile.

“Mark’s motivation and passion comes from personal stories on overcoming adversity, abuse of drugs and alcohol and a target of bullying when he was in high school. Students were on the edge of their seats and parents commented on how important it was for them to hear Mark’s message before sending their kids off to high school. Powerful, personal, and funny motivational speaker with a unique and inspirational story for parents and students.”

The hilarious Stacey Prussman talks about the life of a comedian, her struggles including eating disorder, her movies and much more. Mechanical doping is the new black – kind of. Professional riders – yes think Tour De France have turned to small hidden motors that help propel the bike so they can recover. Maybe pro cyclists have had enough of needling each other. Nonetheless, this new method of gaining an edge has the attention of officials. Lance Armstrong…busted completely. Usain Bolt…busted and crushed hearts. When will the human capacity alone be enough? “The Dog Who Saved Pleasantville” could save your child from having to go to sugar rehab. Authors, Corrine and Jack Wlody (Team Wlody) have created a tale that speaks volumes to parents and provides great insight for kids who think sugar is just like all food…good for you and yummy (cue obnoxious buzzer sfx). WRONG! This warm tale is about smart food choices, family and the importance of community. https://store.bookbaby.com/book/The-Dog-Who-Saved-Pleasantville

Laura Meddens is a supremely talented and creative artist who began painting less then three years ago when her remaining vision failed lost though her work appears to be the result of decades of experimentation and practice. Laura’s story of resiliency and determination to succeed on several fronts is astounding like co-creating Abled.com and developing The Laura and Wagner Foundation. Many criticize Meryl Streep for denouncing Trumps mocking of NY Times reporter Serge Kovaleski at the Golden Globe Awards though I applaud her for sharing with audiences how incomprehensible it is for anyone, let alone an incoming United States President to belittle a person for doing their job.

Michael Dermer, entrepreneur, speaker, lawyer and author of “The Lonely Entrepreneur” joined me to discuss why he left a coveted job as a corporate lawyer to pursue the dream of being his own boss. His concept — reward Americans for healthy behavior and in the process, saving the healthcare system a bundle. Hear how he created IncentOne – an empire he tirelessly devoted over a decade too that crumbled in mere days during the 2008 financial debacle and how his varied entrepreneur skills, business acumen and much more got him back in the game. My mother continues to inspire and teach me through her uncanny ability to adapt to life circumstances within and beyond her control. Recently, she had to utilize her strength and courage once again, this time in the form of relocating to a new home late in life. Change in life happens in many forms and my mothers ability to not only survive but flourish, made me take pause of the significance of this vital characteristic that makes many wildly uncomfortable.

Tracey Jackson, tv and film writer and co-author of NY Times best seller, GRATITUDE AND TRUST: 6 Affirmations That Will Change Your Life joins me for an in-depth conversation about loss, denial and numerous invaluable life lessons. Hear many riveting stories including Tracey’s first meeting with Oscar and Grammy winning song writer Paul Williams that took place in Robert Mitchum's bedroom. Really! A veteran of traditional therapy — though never an alcohol or drug abuser like her friend Paul…Tracey has struggled with other negative behaviors to numb her pain such as men, cigarettes, and over-spending. Tracey shares stories of debauchery that Paul lived and wrote about in their book like how Paul was rarely able to recollect his dozens of appearances on the Tonight Show since he was so high. Tracey blogs on traceyjacksononline.com, and she runs GratitudeandTrust.com with her dear friend Paul Williams.

Another professional athlete is charged with domestic violence – something that is become all too common for victims and leagues. Are sports that require a certain degree of violence for professional athletes more dangerous for the health and well being of their spouses? In October - most schools celebrate diversity, inclusion and the importance of acceptance regardless of how a student identifies as well as the dangers of drug and alcohol use. During this vital month I share my vast experience with students at schools everywhere on overcoming adversity – my struggles of living with a visual impairment, coping with mental illness, my awakening of years of drug/alcohol use and so much more. I’m beyond gratified when I meet students months or years after they heard one of my talks and they recite my mantra, “My Difference Makes Me Stronger” and how my talk had such a positive impact on them. I wish schools didn’t let the calendar dictate or limit how much impact significant messaging can have on students.

Jack and Corinne Wlody (aka Team Wlody) cycled over a staggering 23,783.1 miles to capture a coveted 1st/2nd place in NYS and 8th/12th place nationally part of the daunting National Bike Challenge! Learn how this effervescent lifestyle transformation expert couple/team is serious about positively impacting lives on and off the bike. Parents of college students, don’t be alarmed if you kid calls at an odd hour from a wild party to tell you they love you – it’s because they lost at beer pong (though I’m sure they do love you) and they price of losing is embarrassment and of course, a good long chug. Trump lost Jennifer Mau’s vote when she along with her daughter with a disability attended a rally for Trump last week in Loveland, CO. when she inquired about Trump’s insensitive and callous remarks about NY Times reporter Serge Kovalevski (who suffers from a joint condition), she was harassed to the point secret service had to safely escort her out along with her 7 year old. Now that’s the way to earn a vote.
