Jon Leidersdorf, drummer, song writer, producer, engineer and entrepreneur shares with Mark how he conceived and developed Lakehouse Music Academy, a state of-the-art facility where students (ages 2-70) are taught relevant, real life music education by passionate seasoned professionals in the epicenter of music – Asbury Park, N.J. “The Big Gig” is the pinnacle for students (and parents) each semester where they proudly showcase the tunes they’ve mastered on stage at legendary venues including The Stone Pony. The recording studios attract A-list bands and artists including Jon Bon Jovi, Lorde, Quincy Mumford and numerous others due to Jon’s commitment to unparallel studio and control room design where nothing is spared. Asbury Park’s inner city youth benefit from programs including Hip-hop, engineering and music production – another component that make Lakehouse unique. Mark also presses the humble and very accomplished musician/owner of Lakehouse about his start in music on the Jersey Shore to national and international tours and the night when Bruce Springsteen approached Jon to ask if he could jam with them.
Also, hear how Selena Gomez pauses to cope from depression, new test to detect concussions and how Sports Illustrated embraces inclusivity.
